It’s something you should do every morning and sometimes you enjoy it late at night. Good guess, but it’s not that. Is that all you think about? It’s one of the most important things you can do for yourself, and it’s likely that you miss out on it quite a bit. Really dude, it’s not that. While you’re busy scrambling your brain to come up with an answer, we’re wide awake and bushy tailed from a regular sleep schedule and power packed breakfast. Oop, ding ding breakfast is what we are talking about here.
It’s correct to say when we don’t eat breakfast, we’re stupid, we’re not effective, and we’re definitely not on our A game. I don’t understand people who would rather have a cigarette and a cup of coffee instead of breakfast. We know they won’t be doing any oral hygiene ads anytime soon. I honestly wonder what the hell is going on in their stomachs. If you notice, these folks are some of the moodiest mo-fos around.
We are constantly reminded by doctors and nutritionists that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A morning meal aids metabolism, alleviates stomach interruptions throughout the day (i.e. hunger), and helps block cravings for sugar and carbohydrates. Statistics have shown that men who eat breakfast perform better at work, maintain a better mood and state of mind, and most importantly, have more energy throughout the entire day.
For those who exercise in the morning and want a body like Adonis, avoiding breakfast is not an option. In fact, breakfast is the best time to eat since your stomach is empty and the body will be more amenable to different nutrients. These nutrients will help improve your workout and overall muscle gain.
So, what do we eat? Pop Tarts? No. And for the sake of the people around you, stay away from the Mexican bean influenced breakfast. It is always good to eat foods higher in protein and fiber and less on the carbohydrates. Eggs, yogurt, and fruit are foods that contain high levels of fiber.
Shakes are a popular recommendation because they are also low in sugar and high in protein. Shakes are easy to make, take less time to prepare, and also allow you to blend all the proper food groups; from carbohydrates, to proteins, to fibers—your body will thank you and you’ll feel great. Plus, you can take it on the go.
No doubt breakfast holds the power to start your day and keep you going strong. Let’s fuel our bodies in healthy ways so that our minds can be healthy too.
